Battelle’s Aviation Security Division provides research development test and evaluation services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The qualified candidate for this position will support the DHS Certification Support Services program at the Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL). This position will support the Independent Test and Evaluation (IT&E) program and will require software development in the areas of data management solutions, data analytics, automated software tools, customized software solutions supporting security technology testing, and system application interfaces across multiple platforms. Candidate should be well versed in coding and be able to execute tasks with little supervision. Candidate should have experience in designing, coding, testing, developing of document application programs.
Develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates complex programs for multiple functional areas.
Analyzes existing programs and formulates logic for new systems. Devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding and tests/debugs for a wide range of programs using creativity.
Analyzes requirements and maintains, tests, and integrates applications components.
Recommends and implements changes in development maintenance and system standards.
Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation.
Maintains current knowledge and skills on relevant topics and technologies. Includes pursuing/maintaining technical certifications, as appropriate.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems or equivalent with 2 – 5 year' relevant experience.
Candidate should be adept at designing and developing C# .NET, Java, Python, and C++ applications, and be proficient with object-oriented programming paradigm to include objects, classes, subclasses, virtual methods, co-routines, and discrete event simulation.
Candidate’s programming experience must be applications development in a highly complex integrated environment, integrating multiple technologies.
Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills.
Candidates should have significant experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
The candidate must be able to travel. Travel is expected to be less than 25%.
Sole US Citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and to obtain both TSA and DHS Suitability.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Prior experience working for TSA or DHS
DoD Secret security clearance (preferred)
