We are currently seeking a Web Front-End Developer / Software Developer I . This position is located in the Columbus, OH area.

Primary Function

Battelle’s Critical Infrastructure and Security Resilience Business Line is seeking a Software Developer I / Web Front End Developer supporting multiple government programs and internal research and development. This work includes software application and interface development, data management solutions, and customized image processing tools. Our government clients include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as well as some international governments and clients.

Major Responsibilities

This position will support application design, implementation, and testing. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing web-based front-ends and other user-facing features, emphasizing usability, consistency and visual aesthetics

  • Applying standard practices for coding, testing and debugging

  • Working closely with product management and development teams to develop usable front-end components

  • Creating informative, readable, high-performance reports on incoming field-testing data.

  • Attending and contributing to regular Scrum meetings

Position Requirements

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering/Development)

  • 0-3 years of experience in web front-end development with UI controls such as Kendo, and JQuery UI

  • Familiarity with best practices in JavaScript development and CSS

  • Experience consuming web service data

  • Familiarity with JQuery

  • Excellent communication and writing skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team

  • Sole US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an Active DOD Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain TSA Suitability

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • A portfolio of source code demonstrating development experience and capabilities required.

  • ASP.NET Core with MVC experience

  • Experience with software revision control systems, such as Git, SVN or TFS

  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum

  • Familiarity with JS frameworks such as Angular, Node, and Vue

  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium

  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA

  • Already possess a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Already possess TSA Security Suitability.
