We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Analytical Chemistry Services Laboratory. This is a position located in Norwell, Massachusetts.
Battelle’s Norwell Analytical Chemistry Services Laboratory (ACS) is a nationally recognized environmental laboratory that has specialized in non-routine analyses for government and industry since 1980. We are now seeking a technician to support our expanding laboratory operations.
Candidate must display initiative, strong work ethic, ability to work in a collaborative environment and commitment to excellence.
Initiate and perform sample processing following written SOPs and project QAPPs.
Conduct and document appropriate quality control and assurance procedures for monitoring and evaluating the quality of sample preparation procedures.
Enter data and observations into LIMS.
Operate and/or monitor, and maintain standard laboratory equipment such as ASE, HPLC, balances, GPC, centrifuges, etc.
Perform simple mathematical calculations and prepare data for supervisors or researchers, as requested.
Perform other duties as needed.
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other physical science.
A.A. in chemistry and a minimum of two years of chemistry laboratory work experience.
Must be US Person.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
Demonstrated experience in preparation of environmental samples for chemical analysis.
Experience with EPA Drinking water Method 537.1 (November 2018).
Experience with DoD Quality Systems Manual (QSM) 5.1 Table B-15 requirements for PFAS extraction and analysis.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office tools.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
Previous Battelle experience a plus.
