Our Energy group in the Environment & Infrastructure Business Unit specializes in providing innovative approaches to solving difficult problems in the areas of oil and gas exploration and production and using or storing carbon dioxide generated during energy production and use. We use advanced earth science tools, methods, and models to characterize geologic systems for the oil and gas industry and for long term storage of CO2, including enhanced hydrocarbon recovery. Our clients include large and small oil and gas companies, engineering companies, electric utilities, and federal and state governments.
The Battle’s Energy group is currently staffing to support its Research Support Services (RSS) contract for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). Government-owned and government-operated, NETL is the DOE Office of Fossil Energy National Laboratory focused on developing advanced technologies and accelerating their commercial deployment to produce clean, reliable, affordable energy from fossil fuel sources. NETL has expertise in coal, natural gas, and oil technologies, energy systems engineering and analysis, energy conversion engineering, advanced materials engineering and manufacturing, high-performance computing, geological and environmental sciences, and domestic and international energy issues. In addition to conducting onsite research, NETL collaborates with industry, academia, and other Government entities through partnerships, cooperative research and development agreements, financial assistance, and contractual arrangements to conduct research across the United States and around the world.
The responsibilities for these positions will be to support the conduct of research onsite at NETL’s campuses in Pittsburgh, PA; Morgantown, WV, and; Albany, OR. https://www.netl.doe.gov/research/on-site-research The focus will be in two main areas: (1) Providing logistical and product support necessary for the effective and efficient conduct of research to enhance the impact of the knowledge and technology products at the core of the laboratory. (2) Supporting NETL’s pursuit to nurture and develop world-class competencies critical to satisfying the mission of DOE, while leveraging these competencies to deliver excellence in knowledge and technology products.
